Her parents died within a short time of each other, her mother first, early in 1675; and she was probably brought up by her Aunt Sarah Mears, wife of John Homewood, who had a plantation in Calvert County, adjoining one, and probably near another, she inherited from her father, Sarah Mear’s property descended to her children.
