Built the "Silver Birches" home in Old Forge, right next down to the "Wildwood". While building the Silver Birches constructed a temporary home on a tent platform.

Frederick first assignment after his ordination was a church in Lake Auburn, Minnesota, where he remained until 1899. Then be became pastor of the Elizabeth, NJ Moravian Church, and served there 12 years. Of his 48 years of active service in Moravian churches, 22 years were spent on the Island. He was pastor of the Castleton Hill Moravian Church, Castleton Corners, from 1911 to 1922, and in 1931 he returned to the Island to assume the pastorate of the two South Shore beach congregations.

After 11 years at the Castleton Corners church, Frederick was transferred to the congregation in Gnadenhutten, Ohio. While there he as an active supporter of the movement which led to the formation of the Gnadenhutten Historical Society and served as its first president. In 1932, Frederick returned to Gnadenhutten to take part in the ceremonies commemorating the massacre of 90 Christian Indians.

An accomplished violinist, he had written music for several hymns. One of these "O Jesus, I Have Promised," is included in the Moravian Church hymnal. He was a past Vice-president of the Moravian City Union and for a time he served as president while that office was vacant.
