Notes for Maria Margaretha VOLCK
Identity from Stokes County Heritage; birth and death dates, and those of her husband Isaac Pfaff, from Forsyth County Cemetery Records, Bethania Moravian.

Records 4:1725. July 11, 1781. Pfaff sends word that his son is planning to marry Margaretha, eldest daughter of Andreas Volk, to which we have no objection.

4:1771. July 31. We were visited by Isaac Pfaff and Margaretha Volk, who were married today at the home of her father, Andreas Volk. We wished for them that they might enter their new condition of life resolved to live for the dear Saviour alone.

8:3888. March 3, 1829. Visited in Pfafftown where Br. PEter PFaff has had a catarrhal attack but is improving. Br. and Sr. ISaac Pfaff were visiting in this neighborhood where the above mentioned Adam Volk, brother of Sister Pfaff, used to live, whose funeral she had attended . On the way she had been thrown out of the wagon, and although the body of the wagon struck a fence, was pulled loose by the horse, lost three panels, and finally was stopped with wheels pulled off, no one was injured. Sr. Pfaff did not know how she escaped.

9:4928. July 10, 1846. The two widowed Sisters Maria Rank and Marg. PFaff are granted freedom from making contributions by the committee.

10:5524. May 8, 1850. Took the Holy Communion to the Widowed Sr. Marg. Pfaff, who is very weak. We partook of it with her two daughters to our blessing.

10: 5623. Mary 31, 1851. In the afternoon I rode to Pfafftown, and after visiting old Mother PFaff preached the monthly sermon on I Tim. 2:5 as customary in the Mücke schoolhouse.

June 4. This morning old Mother Margaretha Pfaff, m.n. Volk, died after suffering severely.

June 5. At 10 in the morning her funeral was held. She was the oldest member of the local congregation.

June 5, 1851. ...the funeral of the Widowed Sr. Margaretha Pfaff, who was more than ninety years old.

She is living with Christian Pfaff in 1850, listed there as age 88.
