The Zitzner's family were meat cutters. The business was handed down from generation to generation.

On September 28, 2002 we located the Zitzner's burial plot, New Forest Cemetery, Utica New York (Plot 345). There are three generations of Zitzner's on this Spire. The oldest Zitzner was Henry Zitzner b: 1802, d: 1865; the youngest was Frederick G. Zitzner, b: 1908, d: 1912. There was a child name Elizabeth Zitzner d: 9-23-1944.

The plot is the first left road, off the main cemetery road, across from Storrs Ave, (Oneida Road) at the top of the hill, turn left down a gravel road to the Zitzner's plot. The Spire is on top of the hill overlooking the view of the city. At the bottom of the hill is a wet marsh pond.
