Notes for Ralph Christian DETRICK
Ralph graduated from the 9th grade in Upland, NE. He worked at the bank in Upland until they closed the doors because of the depression. The family then moved to Franklin, NE. where Ralph worked at the county clerks office. In 1943 the family moved to Hastings, NE. where Ralph worked at the Navel Ammunition Depot during WW II. After the war , Ralph worked as a machinist until his retirement.

Ralph Detrick

KEARNEY -- Services for Ralph C. Detrick, 85 who died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1986, at Mount Carmel Home, are planned at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church. Graveside services will be at 3:30
p.m. at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Dr. E. E. Birdwell will officiate. Memorials are planned
at the church or Mount Carmel Home. Arrangements are being made by Horner-Lieske-Horner
Mortuary.

Detrick was born Jan. 27, 1901, in Upland to James and Anna Marie (Nissen) Detrick. He and
Fern Blickenstaff were married July 27, 1930, in Holdrege. He had lived in Kearney since 1966,
Moving here from Hastings where he worked as a machinist for Western Land Roller for 20 years,
before retiring. On Sept. 22, 1966, he and Margaret Arp were married in Kearney. He had lived at
Mount Carmel since 1980. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors are daughter Marlys Jorgensen of Curtis, a son Neil of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother
Roy of Upland; six grandchildren; and stepsons, Kenneth Arp of Lexington, Wesley Arp of
Kearney and Glen Arp of Tacoma, Wash. He was preceded in death by his first wife, who died in 1963: his second wife, who died in 1983; and two sisters.
