Information from Burgert, Northern Kraichgau. Ittlingen records give baptismal date as 1714, but Emmaus Moravian, Northhampton Co. PA, where he ultimately settled, give his birth date as 1713. Since both events are early April, I suspect they were probably in the same year, and am inclined to believe the baptismal record rather than the birthdate given in the much later PA records. Also, his sister Anna Eva was baptized 29 SEP 1712. Assuming she was baptized soon after birth, there wouldn't have been time for him to be born in May 1713.

Norris gives the 1714 date, and notes that he was a farmer and large land holder in Mecungie twp, Lehigh Co. PA, and operated a grist mill. He and his wife are both buried in a family cemetery on the old Romig homestead.

Kay Bradford says he was born 3 Apr. 1714.
