Notes for Milton R. ROTH
Born Milton Zelik Rothstein.
Milton owned a 1/3 (?) scale model of a famous Bugatti racing car, powered by a 12-Volt battery. A blue single-seater with wire wheels and a boat-tail rear end, it appeared to be a very faithful duplicate of the full-size cars. After his death, his widow tried for years to sell it to a Bugatti afficionado, finally succeeding around 1991.
The scale model was supposedly made for Mussolini's daughter or granddaughter.
Milton owned several classic cars that he kept in a hanger, protected by suspended coverings. These cars and the half-scale Bugatti were willed to the nurse who cared for him at the end of his life in Los Angeles.
Milton was the best of show winner at the 1956 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance: 1956 Entry: 1930 Bugatti Type 37 Grand Prix Owner: Dr. Milton R. Roth
