Funeral services for Mrs. Susan Ellen Dulaney of near Carthage, IL. who died Jan 3rd. 1946 at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emil Burford of Macomb Route 4, was held Saturday afternoon at Walters and son funeral home at LaHarpe. The Rev. John of the LaHarpe Methodist Church will officiate and burial will be in LaHarpe cemetery.
Mrs. Dulaney had suffered three strokes, the last one on January 2, and following the 2nd stroke was moved to her daughters home to be cared for. She was born in Virginia May 19, 1973 to Allen and Cordelia Palmer Dulaney. Following her marriage May 10, 1896 to Amos Dulaney, they lived for a few years west of LaHarpe. Since 1912 they have lived in Hancock County in the vicinity of Carthage.
Surviving are her husband, six children, Mrs. Burford, Mrs. Leland Harris of Burlington, Hawley Dulaney of Dallas City; Sidney of Galesburg; Fred and Dave of Rock Island. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Adeline Cooper of Riner, Va.;James Dulaney and Mrs. Leona Wade of Floyd County, Va., and 13 grandchildren. Two children died in infancy, a son Dove Dulaney, died last October 27. Two brothers and two sisters also are deceased.
