David Franz Dellenbach was baptized 13 Feb 1793, probably in Bévilard, Switzerland. His passport lists him as 23 years old. He is described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, with brown hair, a high forehead, gray eyes, a pointed nose, a large mouth, with a round face and oval eyes. His occupation was listed as a miller. He emigrated to America in 1817 and settled in Etna Township, Licking County, Ohio. This township is adjacent to Liberty Township, Fairfield County, Ohio where his sister Emily settled. David married Rebecca Beighler 4 May 1819 in Fairfield County, Ohio (the marriage is listed with the names Debenbaugh and Bughler however). David died 9 Oct 1845 and is buried in Etna, Licking County, Ohio. Rebecca was born 9 Oct 1800 in PA and died 31 Jan 1879. David's name is found in some records as 'David E.'
