HERBERT VERNON "Herb" HODGES Obituary
Herb Hodges, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, with his strong faith in God's promise to being reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Barbara. Herbert was born on March 11, 1942, in Kerman, CA, one of 13 children born to Theodore and Mattie Hodges. Herb successfully ran many businesses with his partners in the construction industry, including working with many family members over the years. The greatest joy in Herbert's life was his wife of 52 years, his immediate and large extended family, and the many friends he made throughout his life. Herb's greatest achievements were his two sons, Jeffrey and John, and his dearly loved grandchildren, John Jr. and Kailey. Life for Herb was best enjoyed when he was chauffeuring his grandkids to and from school, traveling the world, fishing with family, playing cards while telling the best stories or playing the best pranks, and making and eating his famous homemade ice cream. Herb is survived by his sons, Jeffrey of Clovis, CA, and John Sr. and his wife Kim; and grandchildren, John Jr. and Kailey, all of Clovis, CA; brother, Huey Hodges of Clovis, CA; brother, Charles Hodges and his wife Janet of Clovis, CA; sister, Kay Davis and her husband Richard, Sr., of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. A Visitation will be held at Clovis Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Clovis Funeral chapel on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Clovis Cemetery.
