All Johann's children were born on the Manatawny creek, near its head waters, afterwards known as Oley, in Philadelphia, now Berks county, about one-half mile from the present village of Pleasantville., approaching Lobachsville, at that time the frontier side of the Oley Hills and 15 miles southeast of the present city of Reading, PA.
