Records 8:3661. Sept. 13, 1823. David Spönhauer has asked Br. Van Vleck to hold four-weekly services at his house, as was done during his father's time. Br. Van Vleck went theither today for the first time, and found about thirty persons gathered. After a prayer in the German language he preached for them in English. Then he baptized two children, and finally he distributed tracts among them. On the way home Br. Van Vleck called on Br. and Sr. Salomon Spönhauer, who have an inn.

8:3719. Feb. 2, 1824. Br. V.V. had a visit from our friend David Spönhauer and his son Isaac. They brought several bushels of corn as a kind of payment for the services which have been held in their house.
