Got all of this Romig information (excluding Heinrich Romig and the family line of Jacob Ulysses Romig) from Elizabeth Harris via e-mail, 10/15/96.
George M. Norris suggests that the family may originally have come from Austria. This work has a lengthy genealogy of one branch of the family. Elizabeth Harris has used it as a supplementary source here.
Name appears in some records as Romich, Raumich, and Römisch.
Kay Bradford says he is listed in Passenger and Immigration List Index Vol. 3 as ROMICH arriving in Philadelphia PA in 1732. This probably refers to his son Johann Adam Romich and grandson Georg Wendel (among other children), who arrived on the Dragon in 1732. See notes on Johann Adam, from Burgert, Northern Kraichgau.
