The earliest known Rudisill family, originally of Swiss origin, immigrated to Lancaster Co, Pennnsylvania, on the ship Samuel in 1737 and on the ship William & Sarah in 1728. There was a John Jacob Rudisill who came to America from Germany in 1731 — these Rudisills eventually migrated to Virginia, settling in Culpepper Co.
