Ed and Ruth P'Pool lived in Anson until 1896 when they moved to Abilene, where they lived until they moved to Houston in 1909. He was in the hardware and implement business. When his health began to fail, they returned to Anson for a time in the hope that the change of climate would benefit him, but he died there at age 51. His widow lived to be 86 and was active in church and family affairs until a few years before her death.
