Worked successfully to get the William F. “Desert Bill” Keys murder investigation reopened. Eventually attracted the attention and help of of Erle Stanley Gardner. Between the two of them, they eventually absolved Keys of the murder of the deputy, pinning it on a neighboring landowner, who was after the water rights on Keys’ land.
