Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Sergeant in the Union Army in Company E, 126th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on April 3, 1865 at Petersburg, Virginia. His citation reads "Capture of flag." (bio by: Don Morfe)
